FACTORY INSTRUCTORS
JAVI SEBASTIAN
It’s an understatement to say that keeping this a secret has taken some serious self-control, but now we can finally reveal that our new international Factory instructor is no other than Javi Sebastian from Spain!
Javi is not your regular social dancer, but one of the smoothest bachata innovators and one of the most skilled and deeply engaged instructors that we know. To be honest, Javi has been our dream recruitment since the first time we met, and we still can’t take in how all the random factors somehow suddenly worked in our favor, and made this collaboration come true with such a perfect timing 🤩
Javi has an extensive background from dancing and teaching bachata moderna, bachata sensual and bachazouk, and a unique style that truly embodies the saying “it’s not what you do, but how you do it”.
As part of his instructor training, Javi has completed the official bachata sensual instructor certification with Korke & Judith, and completed the official bachazouk instructor certification level 2 with Masa & Polina not one, not two, but three times!
Javi will be joining us for 3,5 months from the last week of February until the summer break in the middle of June. He will be teaching all our Intermediate and Advanced classes on both Wednesdays and Thursdays together with Vera and Natalia, including our new concept the Big Bachazouk Journey, a progressive and immersive program designed to take your bachazouk game to the top level, as well as running Level Up on Tuesdays in an interactive masterclass format.
Buckle up and get ready for an memorable Factory spring semester 🔥

KATRINE RØED
Katrine is a Norwegian dancer who started her dance journey in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2019. There she fell in love with Latin dance, discovering the world of salsa and bachata. After spending time training and developing her skills in South America, Katrine returned to Norway, where she went on to teach salsa for a year.
While truly enjoying salsa, Katrine admits that bachata is the dance style that completely stole her heart. It took her only one bachata class to fall in love with this beautiful dance, and she’s been addicted ever since! Eager to grow as a dancer, she decided it was time to learn from the best.
The last couple of years she spent in Madrid, training under world-class instructors and performing in a bachata show team. Among many experiences, she has trained under renowned dancer Sara Panero and had the opportunity to perform alongside Gero and Migle at the Madrid Esencia Festival in 2023.
Through these experiences, she has developed strong technical skills and a confident, expressive stage presence. She has also recently qualified for World Finals at World Bachata Meet Up 2025 in Poland, putting her on the list of top 100 bachata dancers in the world!
Now back in Norway, Katrine has been teaching both lady styling and partner work, and is thrilled to bring her international insights and her love for bachata to you!
VERA DUARTE
Vera is a rising artist in the bachata scene and has been part of Factory team since day one. Originally from Portugal, she moved to Norway three years ago and began her bachata journey here, where dance quickly became more than movement: a form of expression, freedom, and connection.
Having danced bachata for almost two years now, Vera has already achieved outstanding results on the international stage. She has placed 1st in three international competitions and 2nd once, including podium finishes at Gothenburg Bachata Festival, Malmö Bachata Festival, and Copenhagen Bachata Congress, where she also qualified for the Geneva Bachata Competition. These achievements reflect not only her talent, but also her unique artistic voice and deep musical understanding.
Vera is known for her strong focus on musicality, playfulness, and expression, as well as her outside-the-box class curriculums. With a lifelong love for music, dance has become Vera’s way of making sense of the world: a place where everything feels lighter, more honest, and full of love. Through movement, she feels whole, and that authenticity shines through both her dancing and her teaching.
With one year of teaching experience, Vera specializes in musicality and footwork, emphasizing concept-based learning rather than memorized combinations. Her classes are designed to give students practical tools and creative confidence, empowering them to develop their own dance without the need for constant guidance.
Driven by passion and a genuine desire to help others grow, Vera is deeply committed to supporting each dancer’s individual potential. She looks forward to sharing her artistry, knowledge, and love for bachata with the Factory community.
MAGNUS
Magnus started out his dance journey with good ol’ Norwegian folk swing while studying at NTNU. Soon after, he was tempted by the exotic tones and vibes of Latin and African music, which led him to explore both Salsa and Kizomba, before finally finding his home in Bachata. This diverse background has provided him with a solid foundation in body movement, connection, and musicality.
With several years of experience as a dance teacher, both in the student society in Trondheim and later in Oslo, Magnus is dedicated to creating a safe and enjoyable learning atmosphere, where his students can grow while still having tons of fun.
Having witnessed numerous neck and back injuries over the years, Magnus is a strong opponent of harsh and uncomfortable leading. His style therefore focuses on soft and clear leading, and on creating a shared and relaxed flow with his dance partner, an approach he is committed to passing on to his students.
