READY TO TAKE YOUR DANCING TO THE NEXT LEVEL?

Duration: 1 semester
Type of class: Mostly partner work, but the group decides
Level: Advanced. Note: Level assessment required
Semester duration: Tuesday 25 Aug - 1 Dec, 2026
Time: 1,5h class 19.30-21.00, and practice 21.00-21.30
Studio location: Fernanda Nissen skole, Sandakerveien 112, 0484 Oslo

This course is designed for instructors and other advanced dancers who have already built a strong technical foundation and want to develop through shared learning, reflection and active contribution. Together we’ll dive deeper and explore more advanced concepts and challenges in a safe, supportive and team-based environment, with rotating session leaders and extra spice from international guest instructors. If you’re passionate, curious and committed, you’re in the right place among like-minded dancers. Let’s get nerdy together!

Structure

When there’s no guest instructor, group members will rotate as process leaders of the sessions. We like to call it process leader or session leader instead of instructor, because these sessions are meant to be more interactive and collaborative, rather than strictly following a traditional teacher-student model. Rotating session leaders allow everyone to deepen their understanding by researching, facilitating discussions, sharing perspectives, and exchanging feedback within the group.

Semester Planning

At the start of each semester, the group will create a shared overall semester plan based on the members interests and goals. Since this is a collaborative space, everyone will have the opportunity to suggest topics and vote on what gets included. Some potential topics:

* Deep dives into bachata techniques
* Feedback sessions
* Role rotation
* Shared online courses
* Festival recaps and review sessions
* Techniques and fusion with other styles
* Jack & Jill training
* Choreography production
* Demo practices

GUEST INSTRUCTOR

Throughout the semester, guest instructors may join us to teach special topics in a masterclass format whenever the opportunity arises.

SEMESTER FEE

The Level Up semester fee depends on the total number of group members, but expect approximately 2200 NOK/semester (~60 NOK/hour). Factory membership is required to join, as Level Up is one of our core concepts running throughout the entire semester at a self-cost price.

MERCH

Everyone in the group will get a Level Up t-shirt.

Who can apply

Experienced dancers and instructors are welcome to apply. You don’t have to be a professional dancer in any way to join, but we expect you to have taken bachata classes on higher levels before to be able to share theoretical knowledge with the group, and not only be an experienced social dancer. If you’re not sure about your level, please reach out to us.

APPLY for level up

Before each new semester there will be an opportunity to apply to the group. Be prepared to send a social dance video!

Next intake

More information about the intake for the fall semester 2026 will soon be posted here and on or social media.

Drop in

To help our group grow steadily and maintain a safe, supportive environment, we don’t offer unscheduled drop-in participation. If you’re an instructor/advanced dancer visiting Oslo and interested in joining one of our sessions, or if you have any other questions, please contact us at bachatafactoryoslo@gmail.com

KAT CHOREO PROJECT FALL 2026

Duration: 1 semester
Type of class: Solo, ladies choreo team
Level: Intermediate/Advanced. Note! Level assessment required.
Timeline: 8 September - 1 December, 2026.
Time: Tuesdays 18.30-19.30
Studio location: Fernanda Nissen skole, Sandakerveien 112, 0684 Oslo

Through one feisty choreography we’ll be working on dance techniques and musicality, combining this with a sprinkle (read: whops, accidentally spilled the entire jar) of attitude. The goal is to power up your bachata, while bringing out that glimpse in your eye.

We’ll explore the choreography in weekly classes with the same closed group. For those who want, the end result is captured in a final video project. You can expect a room filled with good vibes, where you get to both cheer and be cheered on!

Instructor

The course will be led by Katrine Røed. She has a big heart for lady styling within bachata, and loves to play with musicality and expressions, as well as being a sucker for good technique. You will get individual and group feedback, together with the opportunity of giving feedback to each other.

Who can apply

Attendees should have the bachata basics covered, given the choreography is aiming at intermediate/advanced level.
