factory level up

READY TO TAKE YOUR DANCING TO THE NEXT LEVEL?

Duration: 1 semester
Type of class: Mostly partner work, but the group decides.
Level: Advanced. Note: Level assessment required.
Semester duration: Thursday 28 August-11 December, 2025.
Time: 1h25min min class 19.30-20.55, and practice time 21.00-21.30.
Studio location: Fernanda Nissen skole, Sandakerveien 112, 0484 Oslo.

This course is designed for experienced dancers who want to dive deeper into technique, creativity and connection. We’ll explore more advanced concepts and challenges in a safe, supportive and team-based environment, with rotating session leaders and extra spice from international guest artists. If you’re passionate and committed, you’re in the right place among like-minded. Let’s get nerdy together!

Structure

When there’s no guest instructor, group members will rotate as process leaders of the sessions. We call it session or process leader instead of instructor, because these sessions are meant to be more interactive and collaborative, rather than strictly following a traditional teacher–student model. Being a process leader is optional, while it’s natural for more experienced members to take the lead more than once throughout the semester.

Following the Factory Core values of fairness, anyone who leads a session will receive fair instructor pay.

Semester Planning

In the beginning of each semester, the group will create a general semester plan based on what members want to focus on. Since this is a collaborative space, everyone will have the opportunity to suggest topics and vote on what gets included. Some potential topics:

* Deep dives into bachata techniques
* Feedback sessions
* Role rotation
* Shared online courses
* Festival recaps and review sessions
* Techniques and fusion with other styles
* Jack & Jill training
* Choreography production
* Demo practices

FIRST GUEST INSTRUCTOR

We’re super thrilled to welcome Jeremy Tang as our Level Up guest instructor from mid September to the beginning of December 2025. This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from a truly inspiring artist and exceptional instructor not only for a day or weekend, but over a big number of weeks.

PRICE TO JOIN

There will be a semester fee to join the group. The fee is only intended to cover the studio rental and instructor compensation. The exact fee will depend on the total number of group members, but expect around 2500 NOK/semester ~ 85 NOK/hour. As one of The Factory’s core concepts running throughout the entire semester at a self-cost price, membership is required to join Level Up.

APPLY

Who can apply: Experienced dancers and instructors are welcome to apply. You don’t have to be a professional dancer in any way to join, but we expect you to have taken classes on higher levels before, and not only be an experienced social dancer. If you’re not sure about your level, please reach out to us.

Use the same form as when purchasing memberships or courses.

Experienced dancers visiting Oslo may be allowed to drop in for single classes, depending on availability and alignment with the group’s level.

It’s also possible to apply to join an ongoing course in case there are open spots.

Type of class: Solo, ladies performance team
Level: Intermediate/advanced. Note! Level assessment required.
Semester duration: Tuesday 26 August - 9 December, 2025.

This is an established performance team led by the official team leader Natalia and co-instructor Katrine. The team is licensed to teach the “El Viejo Oeste” choreography, created by the international bachata artist Klaudia Perdek. Our team trains and performs both locally and internationally, proudly representing Norway.

Level assessment will be required to ensure group alignment. The forming of the team started with applications in May, and due to high demand, the team is housing two groups with different levels. Since there’re a few spots left, we warmly welcome more dancers to apply. Applications during the semester might be considered, depending on available spots and ability to catch up with the group and quickly learn choreography.

Read more about the team here, or reach out directly to the team leader Natalia.
